The Government created the Building Better, Building Beautiful Commission to advise the Government on how to promote and increase the use of high-quality design for new-build homes and neighbourhoods.
Based on their reports, the Government plans to include the word “beauty” in planning rules for the first time since the system was created in 1947.
The Government also plans to introduce measures that will ensure all new streets are lined with trees to make more beautiful neighbourhoods. Yesterday afternoon, I spoke with the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government,Robert Jenrick, MP, about the positive difference this will make across Gedling.
A cleaner and greener Gedling is a priority of mine because an overwhelming number of Gedling residents have told me that it is a priority of theirs. Measures like this one will help to achieve that.
