Parliament has been on recess this week, meaning I have not been travelling to and from London but have been at home in Gedling every day where my work across the constituency has included:
Speaking with members of Together @ Arnold friendship group while enjoying a cuppa
Asking Gedling's Labour County Councillors why they did not vote in favour of an East Midlands Freeport bid which I have supported because it could create over 60,000 high paid, local job opportunities for Gedling residents.
Receiving an update from the Foreign Secretary on Russia and Ukraine
Visiting the TSB pop-up service in Netherfield to hear how they are supporting local customers
Listening to a briefing from the Defence Secretary regarding the situation in Ukraine
Reporting back to Stoke Bardolph residents on the work I am doing, in Parliament and across Gedling, to deliver on their priorities.
Switching on Woodthorpe Tennis Club's new lights and speaking with their youth team
Meeting with executives from our local Clinical Commission Group regarding our health services
Voting for Carlton Town FC to win a £10,000 grant toward improvements at their Stoke Lane ground.
Welcoming an extra £31,971 funding to Gedling to support domestic abuse victims with better services such as healthcare, social workers and benefits.
Popping into the Arnold Methodist Church Befriending Mental Health Support group and chatting with its members.
Helping residents from across Gedling during one of my regular help and advice surgeries.
I look forward to meeting residents in Redhill and listening to their priorities over the weekend.
Stay safe and enjoy your weekend.
