Pleased to be back home in Gedling after a busy week in Parliament, where my work included:
Welcoming a new member to my Gedling office team, who will be assisting me in my duties across Gedling.
Voting for the new Borders Bill, which takes back control of our borders by introducing life sentences for people smugglers, faster removal of foreign national offenders and new powers for border force.
Discussing constituents concerns over delayed postal deliveries in the Carlton area with the managers at Royal Mail.
Speaking with fellow Nottinghamshire Conservative MPs about major local projects that we are working together on, including the Development Corporation, Freeport, Devolution and the Integrated Rail Plan.
Hearing from the Chair and Chief Executive of the Electoral Commission on the work of the Electoral Commission during a meeting of the Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Select Committee
Scrutinised the Animals (Penalty Notices) Bill when it went through Committee stage.
Raised the need for everyone to play their role in tackling plastic pollution with the Minister for Agri-Innovation and Climate Adaptation and also sat on a panel of cross-party Nottinghamshire politicians on how to reduce plastic waste in schools.
Over the weekend, I look forward to chatting with Gedling residents and seeing lots of Santas on motorbikes delivering toys children across our Borough.
