This week was my first week back in Parliament following the Christmas recess, where my work has included:
Raising Gedling's policing priorities with our Neighbourhood Policing Inspector
Asking questions of Lord Evans, the Chairman of the Committee for Standards in Public Life, on his views on reform to the ministerial code during a meeting of the Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Select Committee. My questions and the answers to them can be read on this document from Q228 onwards: https://committees.parliament.uk/oralevidence/3265/pdf/
Chatting with McDonalds about their commitment to net zero in the UK by 2040 and requesting for their three litter patrols a day to expand to hotspots near their Netherfield and Arnold branches. Do you know of a place where there is a build-up of McDonalds litter? Let me know
Encouraging Gedling Borough Council to open up applications to Government Omicron Business Grants, which they have now done. Your business can apply here: www.gedling.gov.uk/business-grants/
Attending a monthly meeting between Nottinghamshire MPs and Nottinghamshire University Hospitals about their response to COVID and other health care matters. Good news from that meeting: visitors will be allowed back in to the QMC and City Hospitals from Monday.
Next week, I look forward to introducing Gedling teenagers, Kids Against Plastic, to the Schools Minister and shadowing Daybrook Surgery.
Enjoy your weekend.
