In recent months, we’ve seen photographs in the press of politicians from across the world taking off their shirts to get vaccinated against Coronavirus. I thought I’d spare you a similar photo, but this morning I got my Oxford / Astra Zeneca vaccination at Boots in Nottingham.
The Astra Zeneca jab is safe and our vaccination programme offers the best route out of lockdown. When you get the notification from the NHS to go for the jab, I urge you to take up the offer.
Congratulations to the staff at Boots in Nottingham for running a very smooth and efficient operation. Logistically, the vaccination programme has been described as similar to setting up a medium-sized supermarket chain from scratch. My thanks go to the researchers at the University of Oxford, the pharmaceutical companies, the vaccines taskforce, the National Health Service, our GPs and pharmacists, and all the volunteers who have made this possible so quickly.
