RANDALL’S ROUND-UP
With Parliament back in session, last week was a busy week in Westminster, where my work has included:
Asking the Justice Secretary to ensure the emotional suffering caused by the theft of a beloved pet is taking to account when courts are sentencing pet thieves.
Questioning the then Minister for the Constitution, Chole Smith MP, on the Elections Bill.
Meeting with the National Axial Spondyloarthritis Society regarding the re-opening of hydrotherapy pools ahead of our meeting with the Health Minister later this month
Congratulating our Paralympians on their outstanding efforts in Tokyo at a celebratory reception in Parliament.
Joining with the Prime Minister in encouraging mothers across Gedling and Nottinghamshire to contribute evidence to a review of maternity services at Nottingham University Hospitals.
Questioning the Government's preferred candidate for Public Appointments Commissioner, William Shawcross, at a pre-appointment hearing.
Speaking to representatives of the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association about electric vehicles and decarbonisation in the fleet sector.
The Elections Bill is at Committee stage and I am serving on the Committee which met throughout this week to take evidence.
While back home in Gedling this week I welcomed the new priest of St Paul’s Church in Daybrook and I enjoyed reporting back to Carlton residents over the weekend on the work I have been doing in Parliament and across Gedling.
This week, I look forward to meeting with Mapperley Top businesses and chatting to Westdale Lane parents about road safety.
Have a great week.
